Timing belt replacement can be a bit of a minefield especially with garages cutting corners to reduce costs

ALFA ROMEO cam belt replacement times are higher then what we suggest , due to the failures we see so many of here we advise slightly early replacement times

All timing belt systems consist of a belt, tensioner unit & guide rollers. All these items wear & should be replaced together failing to do so will result in possible noisy rollers, rollers seizing or tensioners breaking up. All our prices reflect the following

  • We always use OEM parts
  • We always replace the guide rollers
  • A new tensioner is always fitted
  • All camshafts are re-timed using the correct locking tools & dial gauge

Please note many 16v Twin Spark Engines suffer from a loud rattling at idle caused by a worn inlet cam variator unit. Replacing this at the same time as the cambelt can be done at no extra labour cost. The variator is £101.40+vat

 AHM advise on all cam belt changes to replace the water pump with a steel impeller pump we can supply
